Besides the Wing Tzun eight kicking methods, there is still one more leg attack and that is the Knee attack, whick is applied in very close range distance to attack the groin of the opponent.
In a real self-defense-situation rules of fairness ( which could alter the outcome of a fight ) don't exist! That is why in Wing Tzun (WT) we derive from that the consequent importance of a training that is as full and complete as possible, and which acknowledges all of the five distances that are part of the fighting-situation.
One of the transition of fighting distances that we teach in our programs is Knee attacks, which are applied in very close range distance, to attacks the opponent.
Our Wing Tzun student programs also teaches to defend against knee attacks as
well.
Knees are apply in a distance of a foot between the Wing Tzun practitioner and the opponent, it is unwise to launch an knee attack when your opponent can not be reached. Knee attacks are to areas like the groin, the lower abdomen, lower ribs, and if the attacker shoots for a legs or try's to grab the waist the Wing Tzun practitioner will knee the attacker in the chest, chin, face or temple. Our student program allows the student to practice applying his/her Wing Tzun skills in a realistic manner without the risk of injury.
We are a proud branch of EBMAS.
